Raspberries are an excellent source of antioxidants and bring plenty of dietary fibre to the smoothie while the cocoa powder helps add an extra dose of nutrition and can help ward off diseases such as heart disease and cancer.

The almond butter is added to balance out the carbs with some healthy fats and to this, you’ll have the protein powder giving your muscles the amino acids they need to recover from your exercise sessions.

Drink this as a post-workout shake, a snack between meals, or as a dessert when you want to make a healthy choice.

Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie

1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 cup frozen raspberries
1 cup almond milk
1-2 ice cubes
½ tsp. xanthan gum
½ tbsp. cocoa
1 tbsp. almond butter
stevia/splenda to taste

Place all ingredients in a blender and pulse blend until desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately.
